Washington, DC -- Preliminary originates of the National Association of Counties' inspect of elected county officials indicate that greatest in quantity are male first-termers.

The contemplate of the country's 394 chooseed county executives covered topics ranging from salary to name limits to election procedures and extent of service.

Of the respondent 95 percent of whom are male, mostly have served for four years or fewer. Seventeen percent have been in office for les than united year, and 35 percent have serv for individual to four years.

Just 12 percent have been in office for more than 12 years.

Forty-five percent had held public office prior to their election as shire executive -- 33 percent had held shire office and 12 percent municipal office. Forty-one percent however, had not at all held elected office before running for the shire executive's spot.
